Small Forward/Wing

Starter – Baylor Scheierman (32 mpg)

Baylor Scheierman should be right back in the starting rotation in his return to the Bluejays rotation. He’ll operate at the wing-forward spot though it shouldn’t take away from his ability as a playmaker. He made a smooth transition from the Summit League to the Big East in Year 1, producing 12.8 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 3.3 apg and 1.0 spg on 36.4 percent shooting from deep. He put together another 13 double-doubles a year after posting 12 in the Summit.

Now, he’ll look to bring home a national title as a dark horse to top things off. There’s certainly a ton of talent on this team for head coach Greg McDermott to work with. Scheierman returns looking to right the ship with his “winning play” mentality.

Bench – Johnathan Lawson (8 mpg)

Johnathan Lawson joins the Creighton rotation after making his debut this past season in the Conference USA with Memphis. He’s a wiry prospect at 6-foot-6 that should bring them another perimeter shooting threat to work with. He finished with 3.4 ppg, 1.5 rpg and 1.2 apg on 41.3 percent shooting from behind the arc this past season. Look for him to carve out a role for himself off the bench this season.
