Power forward

Starter: Blake Hinson (30 mpg)

The one starter where there’s no question about his role is Hinson. The former Ole Miss/Iowa State forward was one of the biggest impact transfers all of last season, leading Pittsburgh Basketball with 15.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg, shooting 38% from three-point range. He went for 25 points and 13 rebounds against Syracuse, along with 24 points on 8/14 shooting from deep in a win over Wake Forest.

Last season, Hinson and Burton were the All-ACC stars of Pittsburgh Basketball. This time around, Hinson is the undisputed go-to option on this team and has a good shot at making the first-team list for the league. He’ll have to carry the team at times but he’s shown the ability to do so.

Reserve: Jorge Diaz-Graham (10 mpg)

The 6’11 freshman forward averaged around 10 mpg last season, though his spot in the rotation was sporadic at times. Jorge is a natural stretch forward who shot 35% from three-point range and did have a pair of double-digit scoring games against VCU and Fairleigh Dickinson. The presence of Hinson will limit his potential minutes as a sophomore next season but Jorge remains a good piece for the program going forward.
