Point Guard

Starter – Dante Harris (30 mpg)

Dante Harris makes his debut with the Cavaliers this season after joining the team this past January. He’s another electric scorer and playmaker at the point guard spot who should see a ton of time in the backcourt. He’ll be a solid 1-2 combination in the UVA backcourt this season given his prowess with the ball.

He put up 11.9 ppg, 4.1 apg, 3.6 rpg and 1.5 spg on 37.5 percent shooting from the floor. He’s not the greatest perimeter shooting threat, but he’s fearless attacking the basket as he did so effortlessly in the Georgetown backcourt in the Big East from 2020-22. He was the Big East Tournament MVP back in 2020-21 after posting 15.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 3.3 apg and 2.3 spg in the conference tournament including 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists in their victory over Creighton in the championship. He’s a guard prospect who can really fill up the stat sheet in the backcourt.

Bench – Isaac McKneeley (10 mpg)

Isaac McKneeley returns with a ton of experience at his disposal off the UVA bench this past season. He’ll look to really emerge in the backcourt while taking over some of the ball-handling duties. Though he’ll back up Harris at the point guard, look for Beekman to lead the way when he’s on the hardwood.
