19. Mason Harrell

Harrell is a 5’9 combo guard from Midwest City, Oklahoma who spent the last half decade at Texas State. He became an impactful piece of the rotation for the Bobcats after being mostly a bench piece in his freshman. Harrell took advantage of the bonus year from the pandemic and helped Texas State win a bunch of games these last few seasons.

A starter by his sophomore season, he helped lead Texas State to a 2nd place finish in the Sun Belt, though the conference tournament was stopped by the pandemic. He’d averaged 13.9 points a game as a junior, leading the program to the Sun Belt West title, including a career-high 27 points against Louisiana. Harrell’s strong play helped get the Bobcats to the NIT in his senior season. Though the team struggled in his final year, he had his best individual season, putting up 15.9 points per game.

Harrell was a solid shooter from all over the court and earned All-Sun Belt honors in each of his final three seasons, including the First Team nod in year three. Texas State won 100 games in his five seasons, and he was a major part of the sustained success, especially in the middle of his career. The Bobcats had some great seasons and got nice contributions from Harrell, especially on the offensive end.
