Center

Starter – Josh Oduro (30 mpg)

Josh Oduro joins the Providence Friars fold as the ultimate transfer after playing the past four seasons with the George Mason Patriots. He finished with 15.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg and 2.6 apg on 55.1 percent shooting from the field in 2022-23. He’s earned back-to-back first-team All-Atlantic 10 with Coach English on the sidelines and should make quite the splash as the defensive anchor for Providence in the Big East.

He finished with a PER of 24.4, good for third in the A10 this past season. With Bryce Hopkins alongside him in the frontcourt, he’s got an opportunity to really develop as a terror in the painted area on both ends of the floor.

Bench – Rafael Castro (10 mpg)

Rafael Castro is the final returning reserve in the Friars rotation who should see minutes in the frontcourt. He did okay in his freshman debut in averaging 1.8 ppg and 2.1 rpg on 51.4 percent shooting across 26 appearances off the bench this past season.

On the upside, he registered a defensive rating of 95.4 when he was on the floor in 2022-23. He’ll be looked upon to shore things up at the center/forward role with his length at 6-foot-10.
