14. Miami Hurricanes

2022-23 season record: 29-8 (15-5 ACC)

Coming off its first-ever Final Four appearance, Miami is riding high as an NCAA Basketball program, recently landing top-10 shooting guard prospect, Jaili Bethea. But he won’t be available this upcoming season, which sucks for a team that’s without ACC Player of the Year star guard, Isaiah Wong.

The good news for the Hurricanes is that the two other stars on the roster are back. Nijel Pack (13.6 ppg) is one of the best pure shooters in the country, while Norchad Omier (13.1 ppg and 10.0 rpg) proved to be one of the best impact frontcourt transfers in all of last season. And there’s a wide expectation that Wooga Poplar will have a large role in the offense in place of Wong.

To replace All-ACC forward Jordan Miller is Matthew Cleveland, a former five-star prospect and transfer from Florida State. He’s a double-digit scorer and a versatile offensive weapon and can play both forward positions, an area on the roster where there isn’t much depth.

If Miami can get guys like AJ Casey, Jakai Robinson, and Bensley Joseph to take a leap, the Hurricanes’ rotation will be good enough to contend for another potential deep postseason run. But it won’t be too easy to replace Wong and everything he did in the backcourt.
