NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 16 teams for 5-star Darryn Peterson
Arkansas Razorbacks
Starting with last season’s historic recruiting class, Arkansas and HC Eric Musselman clearly are entering the five-star world. Just about all of the current perimeter transfers on the roster will be gone by the time Peterson comes around but knowing how this staff operates, there will always be a new batch of guys that could impact the future playing time of this prospect.
Michigan Wolverines
The Wolverines have fallen on hard times a bit but they’ve been after quite a few prospects in the past couple of classes. A possible pairing of Peterson and Darius Acuff in the backcourt would put them back in Big Ten contention in the 2025-26 season. The big question is whether or not Coach Juwan Howard would still be around by then and if they can land Acuff.
Michigan State Spartans
Michigan State has top-40 shooting guard commit Kur Teng in the 2024 class but with both Tyson Walker and AJ Hoggard leaving, there’s going to be some room in the future for a player like Richardson. It’s hard to break out and star as an underclassman with the Spartans but Peterson would be able to develop for who some would say is the best active coach in NCAA Basketball in Tom Izzo.
