North Carolina Tar Heels

UNC has a five-star shooting guard commit in the 2024 class right now, though Ian Jackson has been a potential de-commit candidate throughout the offseason. But assuming he’s a “one and done” anyway, the Tar Heels should have an open spot for Peterson to slide in anyways. The big question is whether he wants to play for Coach Hubert Davis compared to some of the other coaching options on the list.

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes have a good recent track record of young stars going to the NBA, with Brice Sensabaugh being the most recent example. The team has a pair of sophomores on the roster in Bowen Hardman and Roddy Gayle Jr. who could be pro prospects and gone in two years. If they focus on Peterson as its top target in the 2025 class, they could have an appealing pitch to make.

Oregon Ducks

The Ducks currently don’t have a commit in the 2024 or 25 classes, so expect them to start focusing more in the coming months. There’s a strong chance that none of the guys on the current roster will be around in two years, between all of the upperclassmen players and the five-star freshmen in Mookie Cook and KJ Evans. But with the program sliding as of late, Coach Dana Altman and company could be losing some luster with top guys like this.
