Key Reserves

Mason Gillis, Forward/Wing

Mason Gillis should be the first name off the bench for Purdue in most cases given his experience and versatility. He put up 6.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg and 1.3 apg on 45.8 percent shooting from the floor this past season. He’s got the potential to be quite the Sixth Man in this squad’s rotation given his versatility at the forward role. He knocked down 35.6 percent of his 3-pointers this past season while averaging 1.2 3-pointers per contest. He’ll be looked upon to provide energy and support in a variety of ways with his experience off the bench this season for the Boilermakers.

Lance Jones, Guard

Lance Jones joins the Big Ten after spending the past four seasons in the MVC with Southern Illinois. He was a third-team All-Conference and All-Defensive team selection in the MVC in 2022-23. He’ll look to shore up their backcourt woes with his prowess as a two-way presence and volume-shooting on the perimeter. He produced 13.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg and 1.6 spg for the Salukis this past year. While he wasn’t the most efficient perimeter threat in 2022-23, shooting 28 percent from deep, he still managed to knock down 2.1 3-pointers per contest in the MVC this past season. He’ll look to give them a veteran ball-handler and scoring off the bench this upcoming year.

Trey Kaufman-Renn, Forward

Trey Kaufman-Renn is another name at 6-foot-9 who should turn heads for Purdue off the bench following their exhibition tour this past August. He averaged 18.0 ppg and 8.8 rpg including 24 points and 15 rebounds in their final victory over BK Brno. He’s ready to turn a corner in the Boilermakers’ frontcourt after appearing in 35 games for 11.0 mpg as a freshman in 2022-23.

Myles Colvin, Guard/Wing

Myles Colvin is a member of the 2023 recruiting class who should make an instant impact in the Purdue backcourt this season. He produced solidly across three games in their exhibition tour this past August, knocking down 8-of-12 3-pointers on 13.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg. He’ll be another young face who will be looked upon to step up in the backcourt this upcoming season.
