The Purdue Boilermakers have a few heavy-hitters on their non-conference schedule including a trip to the Maui Invitational this season. They’ll open the season against Samford on Nov. 6 at home before hosting Morehead State on Nov. 10. Their first big test will be the Xavier Musketeers in the Gavitt Games on Nov. 13. The Boilermakers are 2-5 all-time against the Musketeers and have lost five straight meetings including their last meeting in 2012 which ended with Xavier winning 63-57.

After that meeting, all eyes will be on the Maui Invitational as Purdue opens against Gonzaga on Nov. 20. It’ll be a rematch of last year’s Phil Knight Legacy Tournament which saw the Boilermakers roll over the Bulldogs 84-66. They’ll possibly face Tennessee/Syracuse in a field that also includes UCLA, Kansas, Marquette and Chaminade if they win the opening-round game.

Purdue returns home on Nov. 28 to host Texas Southern. December 1 and 4, they’ll have two early tuneup games in the conference with Northwestern and Iowa looming on those respective dates. They’ll return to the non-conference slate on Dec. 9 with a neutral site game against the SEC’s Alabama Crimson Tide in Toronto. They’ll meet for the first time since 2011. A week later, Purdue will host a neutral site game against Arizona in the Indy Classic.

Following the Indy Classic, the Boilermakers will close out the non-conference schedule with Jacksonville (Dec. 21) and Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 29) before beginning conference play on Jan. 2. The potential is there for this Purdue squad to be very good once again in 2023-24.
