St. John’s Basketball Schedule Outlook

St John’s will be on the eye of almost all fans of college basketball and will be in the national media more than they have in recent years. In addition in being in the Big East, St. John’s will have some big non conference games that will have the attention of the national media. Here’s a look at some of the Red Storm’s bigger games this upcoming season.

In their 2nd game of the season St. Johns will take on Michigan at Madison Square Garden as apart of the Gavitt tipoff games. Just having their second game being against a power 5 team is interesting and will serve as an early season test to see if they can compete with other power 5 teams (even if Michigan isn’t very good). They will also either likely take on Dayton or LSU as apart of Charleston Classic if they beat North Texas. These types of games will be key in figuring out how good this St. John’s team is and if they can compete with other power 5 teams.

In December they go to West Virginia for the Big East/Big 12 battle and take on Boston College for the NABC Brooklyn Showcase. These are another set of teams that should give St. John’s a challenge and will let us know how good they really are going into conference play. If St. John’s wins most of these non-con games against good opponents they will be serious contenders for the upper half of the Big East when it comes to the start of conference play in January.
