6. Washington Huskies

2022-23 season stats: 16-16 (8-12 Pac-12)

Leading scorer Keion Brooks (17.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg) is back for Washington and he’s surrounded by a completely new supporting cast. Portland stretch forward Moses Wood joins Brooks in the frontcourt, while guards Sahvir Wheeler and Paul Mulcahy make up the next backcourt, joined by top-50 freshman, Wesley Yates. It’s a group that has plenty of potential on defense but there are massive questions about the overall spacing and offensive ability.

5. San Diego State Aztecs

2022-23 season stats: 32-7 (15-3 Mountain West)

San Diego State now holds the distinction of being the last program from out west to make it to the national title game. But they did lose a ton of talent this offseason, including leading scorer Matt Bradley and two-time Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year big man, Nathan Mensah. Final Four hero Lamont Butler and Darrion Trammell are back in the backcourt, joined by USC transfer, Reese Waters. They’ll need Campbell transfer Jay Pal to have an impact in the frontcourt in order to be a top-25 team this season.

4. USC Trojans

2022-23 season stats: 22-11 (14-6 Pac-12)

The Trojans lost a trio of key pieces this offseason, including all-around wing, Drew Peterson. But leading scorer Boogie Ellis is back, joining by No. 1 overall freshman guard, Isaiah Collier. Washington transfer DJ Rodman gives them wing depth but with the healthy issues with both Bronny James and center Vincent Iwuchukwu, depth is a major question for the Trojans at the moment.
