No. 12 Mike White, Georgia Bulldogs

Mike White made an odd decision last year and opted to switch jobs from one SEC to another, and jumped from Florida to Georgia, and the results were middling at best. White was an assistant for Ole Miss before taking head coaching jobs at Louisiana Tech, Florida, and eventually Georgia. He had success at Florida where to took the Gators to the tourney 4 of 7 years and made an elite eight in 2016-17. However, the Gators only made it out of the first weekend once and didn’t make the tournament 2 of his last 3 years there.

White then led the Georgia Bulldogs to a 16-16  (6-12) record finishing 11th in the SEC and not making the tourney last season. It was nothing spectacular for the Bulldogs and it looked like White was just looking for a less stressful job with less pressure on winning. However, White does bring in one of the best classes in the conference ranking 2nd overall in the SEC (per 247sports) which is huge for the Bulldogs.

White obviously wants to establish a more winning culture there, and next season is looking more and more promising. the only question is if White will be able to return to winning more in March. He hasn’t made it out of the first weekend of the tournament since 2017 and if he get back to winning in March he will likely be on his way to moving up in the SEC.
