2023-24 Season Outlook

The NC State Wolfpack have a chance to be a very good team in the ACC heading into 2023-24. Casey Morsell and D.J. Burns are a strong and productive duo who both can lead by example and get others around them to play well. Both should be looking to play with a chip on their shoulders heading into their final season of college ball.

With the additions of Michael O’Connell and D.J. Horne, Morsell and Burns shouldn’t have a difficult time producing on a higher level and raising this team’s stock across the season. Mohamed Diarra and Ben Middlebrooks are two underrated additions out of the portal that should allow the Wolfpack to play a more traditional rotation, so long as they defend the painted area. They’ll also need to show they can fill the void on the rebounding front.

The Wolfpack ranked second in scoring offense (77.7 ppg) and third in rebounds (35.0 rpg) in the ACC this past season. With the departures of their top scorers in Jarkel Joiner and Terquavion Smith and their top rebounders in Jack Clark and Dusan Mahorcic, it will be paramount that everybody plays a role with their opportunities. This team has a chance to play a rotation of 10-12 guys on any given night given the talent they’ll see across the college basketball landscape.
