16. Tyler Burton – Villanova

There’s plenty of new veteran talent in Villanova this year and Burton might be the finest example. He arrives after spending the last four seasons at Richmond, playing an important frontcourt role for the Spiders in recent years. He’s coming off a season averaging 19.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and performed great in an upset win over Iowa back in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Now, he gets to play power conference foes on a regular basis as part of the Wildcats’ frontcourt. While Burton won’t put up those same kinds of scoring numbers in Villanova’s offense, he will play a major role for this team, both as a scorer and important defender. Don’t be surprised to see his shooting numbers improve after a big step back last year from outside the arc.

15. Jordan Dingle – St. John’s

Yet another impact transfer for the league, Dingle was the Ivy League Player of the Year last season, capping off an impressive four-year (three seasons) run at Penn. Dingle averaged 23.4 points per game last year, emerging as a strong scorer with decent figures across the board all while helping the Quakers to success in their conference.

Entering his fourth year of play, Dingle slides into an important role for new head coach Rick Pitino with the Red Storm. He’s not going to put up those same types of numbers at St. John’s, but Dingle should be one of the most consistent scorers for this program, especially if his shooting numbers continue their gradual improvement. Could he be a major force from the jump in the Big East or will there be growing pains, now in a power conference?
