Schedule outlook

Miami will test themselves with a tough early schedule to start the season. They start the season with three games at home, one of which is a test against UCF, before traveling to the Caribbean to play in the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship for two quality contests. First up is Georgia, followed by either Kansas State (in a matchup that would feature Nijel Pack against his old school) or Providence.

The schedule doesn’t do Miami any favors after they return home, as their first game back is on the road at Rupp Arena to face Kentucky. Four days later they host Notre Dame to begin the ACC season, though the conference season doesn’t really kick off until January 3rd against Clemson.

Miami’s one other non-conference game of note is a date with Colorado at the Barclays Center in New York as part of the NABC Brooklyn Showcase.

The ACC schedule is kind to the Hurricanes, as Miami only plays Duke, Virginia, N.C. State, and Pitt (last year’s NCAA Tournament representatives from the ACC) once apiece. Of those, Virginia and N.C. State are road matchups, while Duke and Pitt will travel to the Watsco Center.

The Hurricanes will play home-and-homes against North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Notre Dame. The regular season finale will take place at Florida State on March 9th, which may be a strange experience for Matthew Cleveland after he hit a buzzer beater last year to cap off a wild comeback against his current team.
