5. What will the new-look Kansas State Wildcats look like?

It’s a new look in The Little Apple.

Tasked with replacing their two leading scorers that helped catapult the Wildcats to the 2023 Elite Eight — Marquis Nowell and Keyontae Johnson — Jerome Tang went to the portal to subdue their losses and help develop a talented and experienced core.

The Wildcats welcome the highly-coveted 2022-2023 C-USA Player of the Year North Texas transfer Tylor Perry. Last season, Perry averaged 17.3 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field while being a consistent threat from behind the arc.

Because Perry is more of a natural fit at the shooting guard, Jerome Tang was able to land a late-offseason addition in Florida/Samford transfer Ques Glover who decommitted from BYU in early August. Last season, Glover averaged 14.7 PPG for the Bulldogs (in only 19 games due to a knee injury) and played extremely well off of ball screen action — which bodes well for opening the offense and Tylor Perry off of catch-and-shoot.

Lastly, Tang was able to add more physicality to the versatile forward Arthur Kaluma. Last season, Kaluma started in all 37 games for the Creighton Blue Jays while averaging 11.8 PPG and 6.0 RPG. Kaluma scores best at the rim but is able to stretch behind the arc and shoot efficiently off the dribble.

The core of Tylor Perry, Ques Glover and Arthur Kaluma alongside the returnees of Nae’Qwan Tomlin, Cam Carter and David N’Guessan makes the new-look Wildcats a very tough matchup to square off against heading into the upcoming season.
