No. 2) #1 Kansas Jayhawks v. Kentucky Wildcats

When: Tuesday, November 14th – 9:30pm EST

Where: United Center — Chicago, Illinois (State Farm Champions Classic)

Perhaps the biggest or one of the biggest matchups in terms of national championship contenders is this one here between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kentucky Wildcats. Two legendary programs. One, a preseason favorite versus the other with high expectations after an underwhelming previous year.

Although Kentucky struggled to stay in the rankings last year, there’s a chance for a complete 180 this year. With some key returning players and the crucial additions such as highly rate Aaron Bradshaw among others, Kentucky looks like they could be one of the best teams in college hoops to watch. Although they can get pushed to the wayside, the Wildcats should not be overlooked. Kansas on the other hand has one of the best returning rosters by far led by Dajuan Harris and held together by big man Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson. Dickinson will be one of the more intriguing players as one of a few traditional centers who maintain a dominating and productive presence in today’s game at the level he did with Michigan especially in the 2020-2021 season.

Although this should not break either team’s season if they both play consistent to expectations, just from a peer talent, notoriety, and elite competitiveness standpoint with championship projections circulating, this game should not disappoint. Hunter Dickinson going against Tre Mitchell or their other bigs will be fun to see. The game will also be a part of the Champions Classic Tournament in Chicago which is looking to be perhaps one of if not the best early season tournament this year.
