2023-24 Season Outlook

Last season was a forgettable one for the Buffaloes as they couldn’t seem to get things going their way after a fast start. Early victories over ranked opponents weren’t enough to overcome some ugly losses to the likes of UMass, Boise State and Grambling State.

They could never right the ship during the conference portion of the regular season, either. While they fielded a road record of 2-8, they were 6-4 at home with three losses coming by single digits.

Colorado will need to overcome the adversity on the hardwood as they look to return to the NCAA Tournament field in their final year in the Pac-12. KJ Simpson and Tristan Da Silva return with a lot more to prove and Tad Boyle is a veteran on the college coaching sidelines who should be good for a better showing this upcoming season.

They’ve got some interesting pieces in Cody Williams and Assane Diop who should surprise folks given their upside on the hardwood. Eddie Lampkin will certainly turn heads given his past production in the Big 12 with TCU.

Overall, this group has an opportunity to be a top squad in a wide-open conference given their versatility. Coach Boyle has a ton of talent at his disposal on his hands hungry to forget last year’s performance. Look for this year’s squad to finish back in the top of the conference standings and earn a nod as an at-large squad in this year’s NCAA Tournament field.
