10. Texas A&M (2-0)

Coming off a surprise second place finish in the SEC last season, Buzz Williams and Texas A&M have plenty of momentum going into this year. These Aggies weren’t a fluke last year and are looking to prove that again this season, especially with Tyrece Radford and Wade Taylor IV both back and ready for action.

On opening night, the Aggies beat Texas A&M-Commerce 78-46 in a great defensive effort. Hayden Hefner actually led all scorers with 19 points while Taylor had 16 points and 6 assists. After a soft opening to the season, things were significantly harder on Friday night as the Aggies traveled to Ohio State. Texas A&M played brilliantly in the second half and left Columbus with a 73-66 road win. Radford (21 points), Taylor (21 points), and Henry Coleman III (20 points, 11 rebounds) all shined for the Aggies.

Getting a true road win over a Big Ten team in the opening week of the season is an impressive feat. Texas A&M came into the season with lofty expectations and didn’t disappoint in their first game away from College Station. Both Radford and Taylor look like the kinds of stars who can continue carrying this team early on, though the challenges aren’t quite finished. They’ll have another true road game this upcoming week at SMU as well as a much easier home outing against Oral Roberts.
