24. Arkansas (3-1)

Following three straight journeys to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament, Arkansas is back with another strong roster with hopes to continue that success. The Razorbacks certainly showed their prowess during the opening week and are getting contributions from faces both old and new. This week did not go quite according to plan.

After two blowout wins the week prior, Arkansas had a closer game with Old Dominion, holding onto an 86-77 victory. El Ellis led the way with 17 points and 8 assists while Davonte Davis added 16 points in the team’s third straight win. That streak did not hit four on Friday as the Razorbacks were upset at home by UNC Greensboro, losing 78-72. Tramon Mark had 21 points and Ellis scored 19 but the long-range shooting was really rough for the Razorbacks in a surprise defeat.

That loss to the Spartans really stings, but Arkansas has to shake it off. By opening the season with four straight games at home, there were chances for upset for a team with plenty of new pieces still working together. Next week is a big one for the Razorbacks, who’ll play in the Bahamas at the Battle 4 Atlantis, hoping to showcase themselves against Stanford Wednesday and then with two more games after that.
