21. Colorado (3-0)

Coming off a disappointing season last year, the Buffaloes returned a few of their most important names and look like a much better squad moving forward. We really haven’t seen Colorado make strides as a national contender, but this program has quietly been pretty solid in the Pac-12 in recent years and will certainly to parlay some success this year into the Big 12 next year as well.

For now, the Buffaloes gained their third win of the season in their only game last week, hosting Milwaukee back on Tuesday night. Colorado played really well on offense in a 106-79 victory against the Panthers. Six Buffaloes were in double figures, led by a 23-point outing from KJ Simpson, one of this team’s definite stars. Colorado also got 17 points from forwards Tristan da Silva and Cody Williams and a double-double from Eddie Lampkin Jr.

None of Colorado’s first three opponents really jump out, but the Buffaloes’ performances have all been really solid, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The defense hasn’t always been elite, but the Buffaloes score, shoot the ball well, and have had one of the most efficient offense through two weeks. Next week they’ll get their first taste of ball away from Boulder, as they’ll play the Sunshine Slam against Richmond and either UNLV or Florida State after that.
