4. Clemson Tigers - 17-8 (7-7)

There was a point in time when the Tigers were nearly on the bubble but they’ve won multiple big games to get safe. Wins over UNC, Syracuse, and Miami got them over .500 in league play, before taking a 78-77 loss at home to NC State. Joe Girard had 23 points, while PJ Hall went for 18 points and seven rebounds.

Clemson may be in a better position compared to the rest of the ACC bubble teams but there are still the league standings to be decided, as a bad week could have them in the bottom-6. The next two opponents for the Tigers are Georgia Tech and Florida State, with the Jackets matchup coming on the road.

3. Virginia Cavaliers - 20-7 (11-5)

An 8-game win streak for the Cavaliers was snapped last week at home against Pittsburgh. They lost 74-63, allowing 14 made three-pointers in the game. Virginia bounced back by beating Wake Forest, 49-47, led by 20 points and four assists, while Ryan Dunn had nine rebounds and seven blocks.

Virginia then got blown out on the road at Virginia Tech, 75-41 in a game that wasn’t close from tip-off. No one was in double figures, with another concerning defensive effort. If they aren’t careful, the Cavaliers they may end up on the bubble down the stretch. They’ll look to bounce back at home against North Carolina, with a road game at Duke looming.
