9. Kansas (20-6)

This season has shown us impressive moments for the Jayhawks. They beat Connecticut, they beat Houston, they beat Tennessee; and very few teams can boast those kinds of wins on their resume. On the other hand, the Jayhawks have shown significant struggles on the road during conference play. There’s no question that the Big 12 is strong, but losses at UCF, West Virginia, and Kansas State?

Kansas added another to that total, but this performance was a league of its own, as they lost 79-50 at Texas Tech back on Monday night. Their most abhorrent offensive outing of the season saw a 13-point effort from Johnny Furphy but not much else to celebrate. Things went better over the weekend, as the Jayhawks finally won on the road, topping Oklahoma 67-57 after trailing at the half. Hunter Dickinson bounced back nicely with 20 points and 16 rebounds while Furphy added 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Kansas has won some impressive games at home and have clearly struggled in those hostile road environments all season long. They have a smaller margin of error than in recent seasons, though there’s no excuse for getting the doors blown off by the Red Raiders earlier in the week. Fortunately, the Jayhawks won’t be on the road again for two weeks, hosting Texas in an important game next Saturday.
