Ranking the ACC basketball head coaches for the 2016-2017 NCAA basketball season.

From a coaching standpoint, no college basketball conference in America can boast the level of success that the ACC can.

The ACC is the only conference in the country with a head coach that has 720 or more wins on their resume. In fact, there are four such coaches in the ACC.

Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim, Roy Williams and Rick Pitino all have more individual wins on their record than any other coach in America. And there are only two other active coaches who have over 700 wins: West Virginia’s Bob Huggins and Cliff Ellis of Coastal Carolina.

The ACC is truly a who’s who in the world of coaching.

But I digress.

Let me first preface my power rankings by saying that this list applies only to the 2016-2017 season. The historical significance of a coach’s resume does play into their ranking, but it is not the determining factor of their position on the list.

The following items were weighted evenly when determining the value of each individual coach going into the upcoming college basketball season:

  1. Returning players
  2. Incoming recruits
  3. Success in the last five years
  4. Historical success

With those four things in mind, I give you the 2016-2017 power rankings for ACC head coaches.
