6. UNC Wilmington Seahawks

Former coach Kevin Keatts left UNC Wilmington on March 17 to take over at North Carolina State. Keatts led the Seahawks to the program’s most success since early 2000s. In the past three years, UNCW went 78-28, including 41-13 in CAA action. The Seahawks claimed the conference regular season title in each of the last three years and the conference tournament crown in the last two.

Overall, UNCW has made six NCAA Tournament appearances all since 2000. The Seahawks set the program’s win record, going 29-6. The Seahawks should be one of the favorites to win the CAA next season as leading scorer C.J. Bryce (17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists) and leading rebounder Devontae Cacok (12.3 points, 9.8 rebounds) are expected to return. UNCW also has a solid five-man recruiting class, led by three-star shooting guard Brion Whitley.
