Michigan Basketball is coming off one of the biggest wins of the year when they beat Villanova on the road. Can they take that momentum into their trip to the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic?

Fresh off their blow out win against Villanova on Wednesday Michigan Basketball heads to Connecticut to take on George Washington in the first game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off on Saturday. Win or lose they will play on Sunday against either Providence or South Carolina.

Michigan was probably the early favorite in this tournament before they beat the Wildcats, but now they probably viewed as a heavy favorite.

George Washington has looked bad this year. South Carolina was upset by Stony Brook by two and Providence was knocked off by a Wichita State team that a lot of experts had picked to finish in the middle of their conference.

It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the Wolverines did not win the tournament, but anything less than the championship would feel like a disappointment for a Michigan team that is playing very well in the early part of the season.

The Wolverines have been playing great defense as their offense finds its footing. Both sides of the ball were in perfect unison in the first half against Villanova as Michigan looked like a bona fide top ten team. They will look to take that momentum with them this weekend and come out with a championship.

Let’s take a look at three keys for Michigan this weekend if they expect to come out 2-0 and a winner of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off.
