Move on from Villanova

Michigan’s flexed its muscle against the Wildcats on Wednesday and completely dominated that game. There was also added motivation as they were looking for revenge from their title loss in April. Everything lined up right for the Wolverines and it showed.

But as good as that game was, it is over. They need to not have the hangover from such a huge win. If they let that win get to their head or just generally think they can just run over teams now it will be a mistake.

They need to use what they did against Villanova to be a complete team, but they can’t be too high from their big win. Too often teams come off of big wins and have had a let down the very next game. They can’t turn the page and bring the intensity for the next game.

The best teams find a way to bring their best or close to their best every single game. They put away teams they need to put away and they rack up the wins. Michigan should have little trouble with George Washington on Saturday and then will be the favorite on Sunday no matter who they play. If they can build off the win at Villanova they should win, but if they can’t escape it they will be left disappointed.
