Even though conference play is underway, there are still some NCAA Basketball teams that could go either way. Should we buy or sell them?

The non-conference portion of everyone’s schedule is over. Many coaches and players will tell you conference play is when the real season begins. In conference play of NCAA Basketball, every game is magnified and means so much more to each team. It is the last chance for every team to pick up quality wins to add to their resume. On top of adding to their resume, there are still those teams who are going to be a shell of their non-conference selves. Those are the teams who can play their way either into or out of the tournament.

In the first edition of “Buy or Sell” we looked at teams from the major conferences who were reversing their projections, either good or bad. This month, we are going to look at some more major conference teams that have again surprised everyone with their play in the early part of their schedule. The teams are going to be given a designation of buy, sell, or hold.  The designation given to each team is how they will progress through the rest of the season.

Those listed as “buy” are teams that are going to continue trending upwards as the season wears on. These teams will find their way into a postseason tournament and are likely going to pick many good wins along the way. The “sell” teams are those who may be on top now but appear to be trending downward for several reasons. These teams had good non-conference records but are likely to play their way either out of the tournament or to a much lower seed than initially projected. The “hold” teams are those teams who have yet to show a trend and are likely going to maintain right in the middle of good and bad. The hold teams usually have some great wins and extremely head-scratching losses.

The five teams in this month’s buy, sell and hold feature are below.
