The 2009 Big East tournament championship was won by Louisville, but it was the quarterfinal matchup between Syracuse and UConn that achieved legendary status as one of the greatest college basketball games ever played.

The Orange and the Huskies battled through six overtimes that lasted almost six hours. Jonny Flynn played sixty-seven minutes and scored 34 points for the victorious Orange. Syracuse won by a score of 127-117 in a game that neither team deserved to lose.

The following night, Syracuse needed overtime to top West Virginia in the semifinals before finally falling to Louisville in the final.
