#9: Andrew Wiggins scores 41 in loss

Mandatory Credit: John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

This one may be a bit prisoner of the moment, but no matter. What Andrew Wiggins did against the West Virginia Mountaineers was astonishing to close out the regular season. He put the Joel Embiid-less Kansas Jayhawks on his back and came all the way from 24 down to make it a four point game with a minute left. He scored 41 points and instantly became the must see TV that we were all expecting from the start of his career. There three pointers, there were steals, there were dunks, and it was electrifying.

The expectations were too high to begin with, but Wiggins showed on Saturday what he is truly capable of as a scorer. The coaches in the Big 12 already know this because Wiggins came in second in the Big 12 Player of the Year race, but now the public can join the party. The Jayhawks may not be able to win in March without Embiid, yet I think Mr. Wiggins will have something to say about that.
