58. San Antonio Spurs — Dwight Powell, PF, Stanford

Hey, a non foreign player going to the Spurs, who knew? San Antonio is going to draft guys who play hard. That is a thing we already know. Dwight Powell certainly fits the play as hard as possible bill.
Assuming, as we have done in this mock, that the Spurs grab a few international guys, it is pretty safe to assume they will attempt to grab a guy who can add some depth to their frontcourt.
I don’t know if Powell can actually make an NBA roster, but he is a really big power forward and they just don’t exist that much in the NBA today. However, San Antonio does prefer the bigger fours and hasn’t completely abandoned the idea of what a power forward was, which was being a bruiser type and not a bigger three. — Joe
