Semifinals

Kentucky vs. Duke

The two deepest teams in this simulation square off in the semis. Depth is a moot point in this matchup, as both sides have a plethora of bench players. What it comes down to is talent, and Kentucky still has plenty of that.

While Duke could hang with Kentucky, I don’t know that they’d have enough talent to take them down. When you have players like Eric Bledsoe and Jodie Meeks coming off the bench, that shows your talent. Kentucky wins a close one.

UNC vs. Florida

On goes the Gators, chomping their way into the semifinals. The face their toughest competition yet, with a fast-paced UNC squad playing the type of ball they may not be able to handle. Their lack of a point guard may finally hurt them against Lawson and Felton. Despite their size, the Gators may play some line ups with Parsons at the four spot to match UNC’s speed.

Still, Florida will be able to dominate down low. Without the talent Florida has down low, UNC is vulnerable to a front court like the Gators’. Call me crazy, but I think Florida can win this one, too. It’d be a nail biter, though.
