Duke Blue Devils vs. Louisville Cardinals: Sat, Jan 17 @ KFC Yum! Center

Louisville’s season doesn’t get any easier as the team will have to face Duke the following week.  There will be quite a buzz floating around Louisville’s campus. The Blue Devils will be the first ACC powerhouse to visit the Cardinals at the KFC Yum Center. Few players remain on the rosters when the teams met in the 2013 Elite 8. But for the ones that are, they are now the leaders of their respective teams.

Juniors Rasheed Sulaimon and Amile Jefferson will have to lead a young Duke squad into a hostile environment. Expect the student section to be booming for this huge ACC match-up. The Cardinals will have a major home court advantage.

Similar to their 2013 matchup, the keys to this game will be how Duke handles Louisville’s defensive pressure and if Louisville finds success in dribble penetration. It’s not often when an ACC game features two premier big men. Duke’s center Jahlil Okafor and Louisville’s forward Harrell are both potential lottery picks. The freshmen will get his first taste of playing in a rowdy college gymnasium. Okafor has a solid frame and soft hands, so he should see plenty of scoring opportunities around the basket. It will be quite entertaining to see the two big men bang around in the paint.
