College Basketball: Five Transfers Who Will Have Major Impacts in the 2015-16 Season
Robert Carter Jr. – Maryland Terrapins
Robert Carter Jr. is the other half of the virtual trade that happened between the Maryland Terrapins and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Forward Charles Mitchell transferred to Georgia Tech so he could be closer to his family while Robert Carter Jr. transferred to Maryland after hurting his knee with the Yellow Jackets.
The year of wait for Carter should have done him some good since he was able to fully heal and now he should be able to contribute mightily for the Terrapins.
Carter averaged 11.4 point and 8.4 rebounds last time he was on the floor and has the capability to be a banger down low who can also stretch out to the three-point line on occasion and knockdown balls from deep.
Putting Robert Carter on a frontline that has Jake Layman and Diamond Stone as well is going to be potent for Mark Turgeon.
There is a lot of strength and flexibility with that trio and they should be able to handle their business against some of the other top notch frontlines in the college game.
That Dec. 1st matchup with the North Carolina Tar Heels is going to be a good gauge of how strong these three are.
Fortunately, Robert Carter can draw from his ACC experience when it comes to facing Brice Johnson and Kennedy Meeks, so he should be able to hold his own.
Next: Dylan Ennis to the Oregon Ducks
