9. 1991-92 Duke Blue Devils

What makes this team so incredibly special is that they not only won one National Championship the year before, but they returned in 1992, and did it again. Not many college basketball teams have gone back-to-back.

Duke is one of those elite few.

The Blue Devils returned majority of the players it had a season before to defend their crown, and defend they did. They had a much better season going 34-2 overall. They went all the way to the National Championship game, beating out the highly touted Fab Five and Michigan.

And it wasn’t even close.

This team dominated with five players scoring in double figures. Laettner was once again their go to guy, averaging 21.7 points and 7.6 boards a game. This Duke lineup thrashed others.
