The duo of Ky Bowman and Jerome Robinson has the Boston College basketball program heading in the right direction.

Boston College is not one of the ACC programs in the discussion for the NCAA Tournament berth but there is a young dynamic duo that should be catching the eye of the conference.

The Eagles have been led by sophomore Jerome Robinson and freshman Ky Bowman, two prospects that could take Boston College to the next level in the coming years.

Robinson, who averaged 11.7 points per game in over 33 minutes of playing time as a freshman, has seen a dramatic increase in his stats this season for Boston College. The 6-foot-5 sophomore guard is now up to 19.8 points per game in 34 minutes of play this season, shooting 44.9 percent from the floor, while also recording 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

More from Boston College Eagles

The North Carolina native guard was going to be looked upon to take his game to the next level if the Eagles would have any chance of raising the bar from last season. The guard has done just that.

In another surprise, though, freshman guard and yet another North Carolina native, Bowman has been a pleasant surprise in conference play. Bowman has been averaging 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game this season and already has produced some memorable performances.

Against Fairfield during the non-conference, Bowman finished with 33 points but matched that in late January with another spectacular performance against then No. 9 North Carolina.  In the narrow loss, Bowman poured in 33 points, hitting seven three-pointers and going 13-of-19 from the field.

In ACC play, Bowman has only shined more, as he has averaged just under 17 points per game.

Boston College still continues to be a program that is looking build after going 7-of-25 last year and 0-18 in ACC play. The building blocks are there and even though they may sit at 9-13 and 2-7 in conference play so far this season, the Eagles have been much more competitive. The Eagles have seven losses already by single digits, including their last three losses.
