American Athletic Conference

Lead-Pipe Lock: Cincinnati, SMU

Some Perspiration: None.

Better Double-Up on the Deodorant: Houston

Houston Cougars, 20-8 (11-5): Listed in my “Next Four Out” this week, their upcoming date with Cincinnati is practically a must-win. Houston doesn’t have the greatest strength of schedule, and their 2-4 record against the RPI top-50 won’t cut it considering their four bad losses. Closing the regular season at 22-8 before entering the conference tournament is the only chance that the Cougars have to get the AAC up to three at-large bids (barring an underdog winning the conference championship).

Record vs. RPI top-50: 2-4          Record vs. RPI 50-100: 1-1

Monday seed: Next Four Out   RPI: 52     SOS: 79

Bad losses: at UCF, vs. Memphis, vs. Harvard, at LSU

Remaining schedule: at Cincinnati (3/2), vs. East Carolina (3/5)
