5. Getting Healthy

One of the biggest reasons behind Gonzaga’s amazing season has been their lack of serious injuries. For the most part, the core contributors for this Zags’ team have been able to play in every game this year.

However, the team sustained multiple injuries leading up to the WCC Tournament. The Bulldogs are currently playing without backup forward Killian Tillie (broken hand) and reserve guard Bryan Alberts (ankle). Losing Tillie is especially concerning, leaving Gonzaga without a member of their huge frontcourt.

The Zags should hope Tillie and Alberts are ready by the NCAA Tournament, as the depth they provide is crucial. It will be even more beneficial if they can return by the final game of the WCC Tournament.

Beyond Alberts and Tillie, Gonzaga stars Nigel Williams-Goss and Przemek Karnowski have also dealt with injuries over the last month.

Williams-Goss missed a game against Santa Clara, early this month, due to an ankle injury sustained against BYU. Karnowski is also dealing with a nagging ankle injury, causing him to leave games in order to re-tape

The Zags are able to win the WCC Tournament without a top player, but they will need all players if they plan to make a deep NCAA Tournament run.
