Egor Koulechov

Former School: Rice

Eligibility: Immediate for 2017-2018

Former Rice Owl Egor Koulechov has jumped into Iowa State’s transfer competition late this week. The young man from Russia has a tremendous opportunity if he chooses Iowa State.

Koulechov is a unique beast at 6’5, 210-pounds. The swingman averaged 18.2 points and a team-leading 8.9 rebounds for the Owls this year. He also hit a blistering 47% of his perimeter shots. Iowa State will have some bigger bodies inside next year, but Koulechov’s ability to snag boards at his size would be a fantastic asset. He looks like the kind of wing that could excel next to guards Donovan Jackson and five-star freshman Lindell Wigginton.

The former Owl will visit ISU alongside Elijah Brown. Reports have Oklahoma and Florida as the other big contenders for Koulechov’s last year of eligibility. His status as one of the best graduate transfers out there should result in a heated recruitment period.
