20. Princeton over UCLA – 1996

Princeton entered the game as a No. 13 seed with a record of 22-6. They were playing the most prestigious collegiate basketball program in history, UCLA. The Bruins were a No. 3 seed with a record of 23-7 entering the tournament.

The Tigers defeated the Bruins in a defensive and slow-paced game where the teams only combined for 84 points. Princeton fell behind 41-34 with less than six minutes to play but held the Bruins scoreless to complete the comeback.

A year removed from its National Championship run, the Bruins were a heavy favorite in their 8th straight tournament appearance. Princeton had not won a tournament game in 12 years.

The Tigers were able to control the flow of the game and did not allow the Bruins to get into an offensive flow. The 41 points by UCLA were the lowest total points on the season for the Bruins. UCLA did not score fewer than 65 points until the game against Princeton.
