2. Michigan State – Won 63 – 60

Melo Trimble delivered yet another clutch shot, sinking a huge three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left to give the Terrapins the lead and win. He had a team-high 16 points, and Justin Jackson added 15 for Maryland.

It clinched a second-place tie in the Big Ten, and, while they did not shoot particularly well from deep, inside the arc, or from the free-throw line, they played smart and only turned the ball over seven times. The Terrapins managed to spoil the terrific performance of Michigan State’s Nick Ward, who grabbed 16 rebounds and scored a game-high 22 points.
