PG Aaron Thompson – Fairfax, Virginia

Rankings across recruiting sites: ESPN (Four-star), 247 (Three-star), Scout (Four-star)

An all-around point guard, Aaron Thompson brings a level of toughness and poise to a team. He understands how to work within the framework of an offensive scheme and is not afraid to spread the ball around. He has solid size at 6’3″ and uses his body well to find openings not only for himself to finish, but also for his teammates to get open looks, something guys like Kamar Baldwin, Kelan Martin, and the soon-to-be-mentioned Cooper Neese, will certainly enjoy.

The true calling card for Aaron Thompson is that he is a tenacious defender. Even if he is not able to immediately make an offensive impact, his defensive pressure will be felt. And with Kamar Baldwin holding down one of the starting guard spots, adding Thompson creates one of the best defensive backcourts not just in the Big East, but in the country.

Thompson had this to say about Butler (via Scout):

"“Me and my family thought it was a good situation for me basketball wise and academic wise. If I get my degree from there, it can open doors for me. I feel like they make it to the tournament every year and with the recruiting class coming it could be special class.”"
