SF Jerald Butler – Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Rankings across recruiting sites: ESPN (Four-star), 247 (Three-star), Scout (Three-star)

Although sometimes listed as a small forward and sometimes listed as a point guard, the only real way to describe Jerald Butler is that he is a basketball player. He is not going to wow you with spectacular plays every time he scores, but he is going to score, and he does it quietly. He plays basketball with a fluidity that is hard to describe, but can leave people wondering how he makes some plays. As described by IndyStar, he is an incredibly leader on the court, which is something that the entire Butler program preaches. He understands how to be a team player and works hard at his game.

An all-around talent, Jerald Butler averaged 12.7 points. 3.2 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game in his senior season this past year. He consistently flashes the ability to be a dynamic playmaker for his size and can make things happen in the halfcourt. Although unlikely to start right away at Butler, his contributions will likely be noted during his freshman campaign.

As IndyStar reports, here is what Jerald Butler had to say about the program:

"“When I went to go see it with my own eyes, I loved everything about it – the campus, Indianapolis, I loved downtown, I loved the locker room and the players in the locker room,” he said. “They’re some great guys, guys I can see myself being with for four years.”"
