Duke Basketball: Blue Devils will be fine after Boston College loss

Grayson Allen will shoot better
Grayson Allen has (somewhat) shrugged off his reputation from a season ago, put his head down, and just played basketball.
Allen has been amazing so far this season despite taking a back seat to the top player in college basketball and future No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Marvin Bagley. He has averaged nearly three threes made per game as well as 17.5 points per game. Most impressive, however, is that the talented guard is shooting over 50 percent from the field – more than 10 percent better than last season.
It would not be a surprise to me if his NBA Draft stock is quietly raising, and we see him picked a bit higher than late in the first round/early in the second as many predict.
However, he had a terrible performance against Boston College.
Going just five of 20 from the field and one of nine from three-point range, Allen could not buy a basketball against the Eagles. He did have five steals and 14 points, but neither of these stats matter when the team cannot stop their opponent from scoring and every missed shot turns into points at the other end.
This is a onetime bad performance. Immediately, people will fear Allen is going back to his old, inconsistent ways, but I think this is a fluke more than anything.
