Big Ten Basketball: Week 7 power rankings for the conference
Wisconsin is really in the same boat as Iowa is in terms of their record and quality of wins. The Badgers are 1-6 against RPI top-100 teams with their lone win coming against Western Kentucky by one point.
The Badgers continue to struggle to score as they are among the worst in the NCAA in scoring offense. In fact, they rank 299th out of 351 NCAA teams in scoring offense at 68.4 points per game. Their defense continues to keep them in some games though, as they yield just 66.0 points per game to opponents.
In their lone game last week, the Badgers defeated Green Bay 81-60. Brad Davison led all scorers with 18 points while Ethan Happ followed with 14.
Outside of Happ (16.2 ppg, 8.2 rpg) and Davison (11.8 ppg), the Badgers don’t have anyone who averages in double figures. In fact, no healthy Badger averages more than 7.8 points per game outside of these two guys. They really need some higher production outside of Happ and Davison for them to turn their season around.
Schedule for this week:
Chicago State (2-13) at Wisconsin on Dec. 27
UMASS Lowell (6-6) at Wisconsin on Dec. 30
