Louisville vs. Virginia Tech: Game preview, TV schedule, prediction
Keys for Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech has made the switch of playing Devin Wilson over Ahmed Hill. The game against Louisville was Hill’s second to last double-figures game this season. He was able to go off for 18 two games later against UNC, in a game where it seemed as though every Hokie had their shot falling for them. Hill leads the team with 60 three-pointers, but since the UNC game, he has only made five three-pointers.
Hill still sees the minutes, but Buzz Williams feels like Wilson is better as the starter. Wilson hasn’t gone over seven point since. He was able to have his first multi three-pointer game on Wednesday against Clemson though.
There’s no doubt that this Virginia Tech team is fueled by Justin Robinson at the point who averages 5.6 assists per game. Then there’s also Justin Bibbs and Kerry Blackshear Jr. who both average double-figures for the season.
Louisville on the other hand is one of the “all paper” teams. When you look at their current starting five along with the sixth leading scorer, they’re all names who stick out to you.
The Cardinals are still seeing production from their top three upper classmen. Deng Adel is leading the team in points per game at 15.4. Quentin Snider is still doing point guard things with four assists per game and just under 12 points. Raymond Spalding then rounds everyone out at just under 12 points per game also along with 9 boards. Those are a perfect three to build a team around.
