Patriot League Bracketology

This is obviously a one-bid league, but that doesn’t mean that what happens in this tournament doesn’t have an effect on the NCAA Tournament seeding.

Here at Busting Brackets, we do a weekly (now bi-weekly) Bracketology, projecting which bubble teams get in, as well as where the automatic bids are placed. As the projected representative of the Patriot League, Bucknell was awarded a 15 seed.

That’s important to note, as the Bison could potentially creep up to a 14 or even 13 seed depending on what happens to the favorites of the other one-bid conference tournaments. Essentially speaking, there’s a very likely chance that any other team from this conference would be a 16 seed if they managed to get in.

Team with the best chance to win a NCAA game: Bucknell

The Patriot League has had some success this millennium in the NCAA Tournament, with the most recent being Lehigh beating Duke a few years ago. Bucknell had a memorable win in 2005, beating the No. 3 seed Kansas.

That team 13 years ago was similar to this Bison team, with three clear offensive options. But in my opinion, this team is much better, with an All-American caliber forward to go along with two other future pros. All the top teams in the country has shown weaknesses, and in the same way Middle Tennessee shocked Michigan State in the first round, Bucknell is built to do the same.
