Key players for Michigan

Moritz Wagner JR Forward

After a quiet couple of games to start the tournament off, the 6’10 forward broke out in a big way, scoring 21 points and hitting all three three-pointers to beat Texas A&M. He dominated the Aggie’s bigs, stretching them out to the perimeter where they weren’t comfortable at all. That’s a problem for Florida State, whose frontcourt players are a similar nature. He does have games where he’s not aggressive, which Florida State will try to capitalize off of.

Charles Matthews JR Guard

After playing very little at Kentucky, he became the scorer he was expected to be after sitting out a season. He’s had a couple of big games already in the Big Dance, with 20 points and 11 rebounds against Montana and 18 versus the Aggies. Matthews is the best pure scorer for the Wolverines, and someone the Seminoles will need to watch.

Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman SR Guard

He’s scored in double figures in all three games, including a team-high 24 points in the last game. But his specialty is on defense, which will be needed to guard the multiple Seminoles he’ll be facing. The senior has been coming up big since the start of the Big Ten Tournament, playing the best basketball of his career.
