Key moment of the game

It was around eight minutes left in the game, where Marques Townes went down with a cramp injury. When he left the court the Ramblers couldn’t get anything going on offense. They turned the ball over five times in six possessions, and once Michigan’s three-pointers finally started to go down, it was all she wrote.

Key Player for Loyola-Chicago

Custer scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half. And despite turning the ball over six times, Krutwig had a good game overall, with a team-high 17 points.

But the key player for the Ramblers was sixth man Aundre Jackson, who scored his eight first-half points during the team’s run to give them the lead. Without him they would’ve gone down big-time to Michigan.

Key player for Michigan

Of course, it’s Wagner, who went for 24 points and 15 rebounds – with six coming from the offensive end. He along with Matthews were the only sources of offense, and his personal 8-0 was what helped put the game out of hands for the Wolverines.

Loyola-Chicago’s season comes to an unfortunate end, but it doesn’t take away from the awesome accomplishments they had along the way. With Wichita State gone, it looks like the Ramblers will be the new face of the Missouri Valley Conference.
